EB-5 INVESTMENT COALITION STATEMENT ON SENATE JUDICIARY COMMITTEE HEARING

WASHINGTON, DC- The EB-5 Investment Coalition, a broad-based coalition representing EB-5 industry participants across the country, today released the following statement ahead of the U.S. Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing:

“EB-5IC is hopeful that the Senate Judiciary Committee’s hearing will be the start of an open and transparent legislative process that will result in the reauthorization of the EB-5 program with the common-sense reforms we have long advocated. Our Coalition stands ready to engage in constructive dialogue with Members of Congress to advance reforms to the Regional Center program, such as implementing integrity measures to address concerns over fraud, safeguarding national security, and ensuring the program can continue to stimulate the economy through job creation all across America.

“The underlying purpose of the EB-5 program is to stimulate the economy through job creation – and the simple fact is, the EB-5 Regional Center Program has done just that, in many cases by helping to fund projects that otherwise would have had difficulty getting off the ground. For the past 26 years, the EB-5 program has fueled investment in infrastructure, transportation, community development, schools, elder care, energy, agriculture, and manufacturing projects in all 50 states and created tens of thousands of jobs in the process – all at no cost to the taxpayer. That’s why economists, community leaders and businesses large and small across the country have lined up to support this program.

“We continue to remain optimistic that this essential job-creation program will be reauthorized this fall with common-sense reforms that will strengthen EB-5 in the years to come. We look forward to working constructively with Congress to achieve that end.”
