EB-5IC Condemns Fraud in San Gabriel Valley
Washington, DC – The EB-5 Investment Coalition, a broad-based coalition representing EB-5 industry participants across the country, today released the following statement from Angelique Brunner, the EB-5 Investment Coalition’s Industry Membership Chair and Spokesperson, responding to the alleged fraud in the Los Angeles area:
“The initial reports of the alleged fraud scheme in Southern California are reprehensible. Any individual that commits fraud should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.
“This unfortunate incident only underscores the need for Congress to strengthen the EB-5 program by immediately passing integrity measures to prevent fraud, protect national security and allow this program to do what it does best — continue to attract investment and create jobs in communities across the country. We fully support strong new authorities for USCIS to act quickly and decisively in any situation where fraud or other misconduct is suspected. As a Coalition, we have consistently called for strengthened integrity measures and strongly support the comprehensive reforms that are vital for the long-term success of the EB-5 program.”
