EB-5 INVESTMENT COALITION STATEMENT ON CONGRESSIONAL ACTION TO EXTEND THE EB-5 REGIONAL CENTER PROGRAM

WASHINGTON, DC – The EB-5 Investment Coalition, a broad-based coalition representing EB-5 industry participants across the country, today released the following statement on Congressional action to include a ten month extension of the EB-5 Regional Center Program in the omnibus spending bill now being finalized by leadership in the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives:

“We agree with the decision by House and Senate leadership to extend the EB-5 Regional Center Program through the omnibus spending bill, a move that recognizes the program’s critical importance to U.S. job creation while ensuring the continued flow of billions of dollars in private investment into our economy at no cost to taxpayers. This action comes after many months of hard work and negotiations on the part of our Coalition, policymakers and other key stakeholders, and we are deeply appreciative of the tireless efforts and leadership of all those who pushed to advance the broader reform package that ultimately resulted in this extension in the House and Senate.

“The decision to move forward with a 10 month extension will allow for a more open and transparent review process and robust deliberation over the reforms that are needed to make the program even stronger and more effective. Among other reform measures, our Coalition has repeatedly called for common sense changes to promote greater integrity and oversight in the program, most recently in a November 19th letter to Congressional leaders. We look forward to working with key members and stakeholders over the next ten months to ensure those changes are made in a way that optimizes the program’s economic impact across all industries and geographic regions.”
