Extension of EB-5 Regional Program Gives Congress Opportunity to Implement Permanent Reform
Washington, DC – The EB-5 Investment Coalition, a broad-based coalition representing EB-5 industry participants across the country, today released the following statement from Angel Brunner, the EB-5 Investment Coalition’s Industry Membership Chair and Spokesperson, on Congress’ extension of the EB-5 Regional center program through September:
“The EB-5 Investment Coalition has worked diligently in recent months to secure permanent reforms to the EB-5 program, including measures to strengthen transparency and program integrity. While we are disappointed that Congress did not include these reforms in the omnibus, we are encouraged by the progress that key EB-5 policymakers, working with rural and urban stakeholders across a broad cross-section of organizations, have made in finding common ground to improve this critical program for job creation.
“Now is the time for Congress to enact these needed reforms to strengthen EB-5 for the long haul. Our Coalition looks forward to working with Members in the coming weeks to ensure the EB-5 program can continue to build on its strong record of helping communities spur economic investment and create jobs.”
